Marconi Beach is a beach that backs up to the bluffs of the outer Cape. The beach has a decent amount of parking and lots of space to spread out and enjoy the beach.

Located approximately 2 hours away from Boston by car, the beach is named after famous Italian inventor Guglielmo Marconi, who transmitted the first transatlantic wireless communication from the nearby Marconi Station in 1903.

Today, visitors can explore this historic area using a nature trail, swim in the ocean, and enjoy activities such as surfing and boogie boarding.

Things to Do

Visit the Marconi Station's observation platform in order to enjoy scenic views of Cape Cod and the Atlantic Ocean.
Go for a family hike along the Atlantic White Cedar Swamp Trail, a 1.5-mile nature trail lined with all kinds of beautiful plants and trees.
Cool off in the summertime by going for a dip in the ocean or doing activities like surfing and boogie boarding.

Marconi Beach Insider Tips

Explore the rest of the Cape Cod National Seashore while doing fun family activities like cycling and hiking! You can learn more about the park's trails and beaches here.
The waves can be a bit rough, so be cautious while swimming with young children and weak swimmers.
Be prepared to pay about $20 for parking for the day.
Make sure to bring along a camera in case you are lucky enough to see some seals swimming in the ocean!

When are Lifeguards on Duty?
The park's six beaches have lifeguards on duty from late June until Labor Day.

What About Restrooms?
Restrooms at Salt Pond Visitor Center in Eastham and Province Lands Visitor Center in Provincetown are open year-round. Other restrooms in the park are open seasonally from late spring to early fall.
