Expect to find household names hanging on every wall at the Atheneum. Among others, the museum features: Picasso, Monet, Dalí, Van Gogh, Warhol, Miró, Matisse, Sargent, Hopper, Homer, Wyeth, Klimt, Caravaggio, de Chirico, LeWitt, Rauschenberg, Sherman, Stella, Oldenburg, Giacometti, and Albers.
For Families
Introduce children to a world of art at the Wadsworth Atheneum. Regularly scheduled programs promise a combination of interactive art exploration and engaging activities. Best of all, it’s not just for the kids. Parents, grandparents, and caregivers are invited to be creative, too!
Family ArtPacks
Children ages 5 to 10 and accompanying adults discover art together through looking, drawing, and imaginative activities based on select works of art. Family ArtPacks include a colorful guide that children take home. Pick up an ArtPack at the Main Street information desk. Free with museum admission.
Free Family Second Saturdays
Join us the second Saturday every month for a FREE morning of fun for the whole family! Admission to the museum and all activities are free from 10 am to 1 pm. Explore art with your family, encourage creativity during drop-in activities and expand your imagination through conversation and discovery.
