The LexFarm Goat Yard has a herd of five Nigerian Dwarf goats: Ionia (the queen); Ella, Naya, and Sapphire (Ionia's triplets, born on May 30, 2011), and Jasper (another kid born shortly after the triplets).
The goats are gentle and friendly, and LexFarm volunteers are on hand to answer questions about goats, farms, and sustainable land use. Ionia is pregnant again, due in March, which makes this winter an especially great time to visit.
The LexFarm Goat Yard also has two small barns, chickens, compost bins, and more -- a great place for hands-on learning about small-scale farming.
