MAGICAL VERNAL POOLS (Sunday/19th at 2:30pm):

Come learn about these important habitats and the special animals that call them home, including the multiple types of mole salamanders, frogs, and invertebrates that use only vernal pools, as well as many other animals (big and small) that use these unique pools.

Children will see some critters, listen to stories, hear frog calls, play a game and enjoy a vernal pool craft.

Led by Stephen DeFlorio, Teacher/Naturalist at Apple Valley Montessori School in Sudbury, and former naturalist/education coordinator for Mass Audubon Society.

Ages 2.5 to 8.

Free.

Barefoot Books is located at 89 Thoreau Street in the Concord Depot. Taking the MBTA's Fitchburg commuter rail line to the 'Concord' stop brings you across the street from our Studio. If driving, we are just 30 minutes northwest of Boston. Take Route 2W to Rte. 62E (RH turn at lighted intersection). Follow <1 mile to another lighted intersection; turn right onto Thoreau Street. Barefoot Books is 2 blocks ahead on your LH side. Free parking in lot alongside our building or in lot directly across Thoreau Street (in spots facing the street). Ample metered street parking.
