New England Gerbil Show 2014
Gerbil owners are invited to register their gerbils for this fun, family-friendly event, which includes several contests and pet competitions.
Serious gerbil owners and breeders may compete in official judging for the Best-in-Show honors while the public votes for the Photo Contest award winners.
A fun Pet Class competition for younger kids gives awards for pets' endearing characteristics, with ribbons awarded for qualities like Cutest Face, Fastest Wheel Runner, Friendliest, and Best Whiskers.
Older children may enter their gerbils in our “Mock Show” and learn from the AGS’s Youth Judges what makes a winning gerbil.
In the “Gerbil Olympics” pets can compete in events like Tube Chewing and HamTrak Racing.
There will be a Gerbil Agility demonstration, specialty gerbil-related merchandise, a raffle and silent auction, and a 4-H pocket pets exhibit.
Libby Hanna, President of the American Gerbil Society and a resident of Boston, MA is the coordinator of this event.
Libby is a long-time gerbil owner, rescuer, breeder and show judge.
Her kennel, Shawsheen River Gerbils, is the oldest established gerbil rescue in the nation.
The show is open to gerbil owners and gerbil fans alike.
