Enjoy February school vacation week in the Tropics
Leave the winter chill behind and visit Franklin Park Zoo’s Tropical Forest, which is kept at a balmy 72 degrees year-round!
Take a stroll through lush greenery and waterfalls, and visit western lowland gorillas, ring-tailed lemurs, ocelots, Baird’s tapirs, a giant anteater and much more.
Throughout February school vacation week, learn more about these incredible animals that call the Tropical Forest home.
The festivities will include zookeeper encounters, daily story times, crafts and more!
Be sure to stop by for the daily story time featuring Curious George in the Hippo Theater from 10:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. at half hour intervals.
Don’t forget to bring your camera as visitors of all ages will have an opportunity for a meet and greet with a costumed Curious George.
On February 16, don’t miss the birthday party for Little Joe, a western lowland gorilla!
The indoor gorilla exhibit will be festively decorated and the gorillas will enjoy treats made especially for them – make sure you sign Little Joe’s giant birthday card!
The gorillas will go on exhibit at 10:15 a.m.
