This popular North End celebration draws people of diverse faiths and backgrounds and is a fun opportunity to honor our faithful companions, who have been a tremendous source of comfort for so many during the ongoing pandemic.
This year’s event will include a ceremony led by Rev. Dr. Matthew Cadwell, Old North’s new Vicar-in-Charge, and assisted by Rev. Amy Whitcomb Slemmer. Each pet will receive a special blessing.
Animals of all sorts are welcome, and photographs of pets that do not travel well are also invited.
Children may bring stuffed animals to be blessed, too!
The festivities will take place in the Bigelow Courtyard behind Old North Church, accessed via the entrance on Unity Street across from the Prado (parallel between Salem and Hanover Streets).
Pets must be on leash or in appropriate carriers. For the safety of all, we ask that attendees refrain from petting others’ animals. While masks are not required outdoors, some may prefer to wear them. We encourage participants to maintain distance between households to ensure the health of all.
This event is held in partnership with RUFF, the North End Dog Group.
