Federal and state agencies are expanding offshore wind development in New England and south along the east coast.
While increasing wind power in New England will be an important part of a carbon-reducing plan, wind turbines—particularly turbines placed offshore—will have unknown impacts on birds and other wildlife.
In this presentation Joan Walsh will describe the current planned offshore wind projects for Massachusetts and how Mass Audubon is working with partners to protect birds while supporting a greener energy future.
Mass Audubon's Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary and Conservation Science Department host this informal series.
This event is also co-sponsored by Jack's Abby.
