Starting May 1st, 2012 the Boston Center for Adult Education (BCAE) invites children ages seven and up to “Sewing Story: Create Clothes for Your 18' Doll,” where they will learn how to sew on a machine and by hand by working with patterns.
At the end of eight sessions, each child will have created their own Mexican doll costume, including a felt vest, pull-on skirt and shawl!
Almost every little girl has doll with the identical outfits to everyone else, so why not teach them a new skill while creating a new outfit for their 18-inch dolls. The new sewers will also walk away with their own pincushion and patchwork doll blanket so that they can continue with their new found skill! “Sewing Story” at the BCAE is the perfect after-school activity to get the kids away from the television and learning something new!
