The Art of Pastel is a solo exhibit at the Norfolk Library by award-winning artist Stacey David, highlighting the beauty and versatility of soft chalk pastels.
The show will run Monday, Aug. 5 through Friday, Aug. 30 during normal library hours. An Opening Reception will be held on Saturday, Aug. 10 from 4-6pm, which is free and open to the public.
More than two dozen pieces showcase the artist's talent in landscape, portraiture and still life, capturing images from her travels in Europe, the Caribbean and the U.S. with vibrant colors and a realistic, yet painterly style.
David has won numerous awards in local, national and international painting competitions. Work at the exhibit will be for sale, and she also accepts portrait commissions.
