Massachusetts College of Art and Design is pleased to present a free event for families on Saturday, October 26th from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm in the Bakalar & Paine Galleries (located on MassArt’s campus at 621 Huntington Avenue, Boston).
Family Day is an opportunity for families to explore the Fall exhibitions in the galleries including Reality Check, a photography exhibit, and Selections, a multimedia exhibit by MassArt faculty.
Family Day offers hands-on art and craft projects and special activities that allow children to experience the creative process.
Admission is free and materials are provided, so attendees are encouraged to drop in at any time to enjoy art-making projects, guided conversations, interactive activities, and refreshments.
The activity stations, which are designed and facilitated by MassArt students, are structured around ongoing gallery exhibitions that offer unique opportunities for conversation and learning.
Featured exhibitions are Reality Check, including seven photographers whose surprising real-life photographs strike the viewer as digitally altered, and Selections, featuring the artworks of 14 MassArt faculty members who are newly hired or returning from sabbatical.
Visitors of all ages are welcome, but activities are best suited for ages 4 and up.
Family Day is free and open to the public.
Materials and refreshments are provided.
We would like to thank MassArt's Center for Art and Community Partnerships (CACP) for their continued collaboration and support of Family Day!
