Driving Directions
Nearby: In Waltham center, look for the signs.
They are well-posted, but small and buff-colored.
From the North or South: From Interstate 95/Route 128, take exit 26 (Route 20 East) for 1.6 miles. At Waltham Common, turn right onto Moody St. Cross the river, turn left onto Pine St, and left onto Cooper St into the Embassy Theater parking lot. Purchase a ticket (2 hours or more) from one of the two ticket machines, and place the ticket on your dashboard (free on Sundays and holidays). Then follow the signs and cross the footbridge. The museum entrance is below the smokestack.
Do not park at the museum’s back door. Your car may be towed.
We do not have handicapped parking, but arrangements can be made.
Public Transportation
The museum is a short walk from the MBTA transit depot on Carter St.
Local bus 70/70A from Cambridge via Watertown runs every day.
Express buses (500 and above) run on limited schedules to and from Boston, Cambridge, Riverside, and Newton.
Commuter rail trains run infrequently from Boston’s North Station on the Fitchburg line.
For more information, visit www.mbta.com or call 800-392-6100.
Walking
From the middle of the Moody St. bridge, walk downstream on either side of the river to the museum entrance.
