Children can do various stamp activities including making their own collection of US stamps from the Black Heritage US stamp series.
There will be stamp scavenger hunts for prizes, stamp puzzles and searching in the Museum’s two-cent stamp boxes.
Children can also design their own Dr. King stamps to display in the Museum’s main gallery.
Make unique envelopes to send letters to friends, free postage.
In addition, each family will receive a packet of stamps, a Dr. King US commemorative stamp and a 16 page booklet prepared by the U.S Post Office featuring African-Americans on stamps with their brief biographies.
A booklet about how to start a stamp collection will also be available.
Refreshments.
