Great question: Frit is simply crushed glass, and has EVERYTHING to do with Glass Fusing.
Making frit is fun and extremely stress relieving.
And creating art out of it is rewarding.
Join us for this frit wave class to learn how to create frit and make awesome designs out of it!
Glass fusing is becoming the fastest growing art medium of today!
It’s accessible for all skill levels, east to learn, and the results are always stunning!
This course is your perfect opportunity to explore a new art form with no commitment!
New to glass fusing?
Don’t worry, you’ve come to the right place.
At The Glass Bar, we work with beginners everyday, accessing each individual’s skill level.
We have developed a master plan to ensure that each individual is calm and confident before we move on.
Then, we work with you to find inspiration for your project.
We want you feel the excitement of exploring a new art form.
We encourage each individual to test their imagination to find a design that suits them.
You will create a piece of fused glass art that you will love.
During this class you will learn glass safety, so you can feel calm and confident when working with glass.
Next we will jump into designing our frit flowers.
The instructor will explain what “Frit” as a material, and the many different ways we use it.
The theme of this class is “Frit Flower Fusing.
Each person will have the opportunity to make frit from hard glass, and then use it to design their piece.
Whether you create a field of frit flowers, or a few lone standing flowers you will amaze yourself
We will then move on to the final touches, finalizing your design and prep the pieces for the kiln.
During this course you will receive the materials and instruction to complete a 6 x 3 fused glass suncatcher.
This course will take 1-2 hours.
Students are welcome to leave as they finish.
Course fee is $40 per participant.
Online registration required.
Please wear close toed shoes.
Projects must fire in the kiln over night and may take up to a month for completion.
We are not responsible for projects after 30 days.
We are not responsible for projects that break in the kiln.
