Is a store-bought greeting card too ordinary?
Why not send a homemade postcard of your own design made from pieces of colorful fabric.
The Spellman Museum of Stamps & Postal History at Regis College in Weston is holding a fabric postcard making day on Saturday June 17 from 11:00 to 3:00.
Instructors will give lessons on how to make these colorful and unusual cards and the Museum will provide free postage of vintage stamps to mail them.
The day is appropriate for both children and adults and there will also be an opportunity to make envelopes from old maps and calendars to send letters, again with free postage.
In addition in the main gallery is the Museum’s special exhibit celebrating the centennial of the birth of President John F.
Kennedy.
Stamps, envelopes, memorabilia and photographs all related to the celebration of the president’s life are on display.
Children can also make a free collection of all US stamps featuring past presidents.
The Kennedy exhibit runs until September 30.
