Renowned American Folk Artist Christopher Gurshin will instruct 'budding artists' (children ages 10 and up) in the methods and materials of folk art. Christopher`s patient instruction and simple techniques will enable children to create their own 'work of art' on a small canvas. Experience the fun of creating and learning the old New England 'folk art' style of painting using water base acrylics. No painting experience is required for this fun and creative day.

This will be the first class for children aged ten and up to have the opportunity to learn and create from well known artist Christopher Gurshin, who has been a professional since 1966.

Everyone receives individual attention with guiding explanations throughout the day. The package includes a detailed step by step numbered set of instructions, your own reusable precut Mylar stencils, a numbered stencil guide, and a color print guide of the painting, 'Adams Farm.' There are a minimum amount of materials needed to bring to the class, such as three bristle or small stencil brushes, ½ ' artist brush, a detail brush, a fine waterproof 'Pilot' pen, clean cloth (old cotton for instance), palette, masking tape, pencil, ruler and a water container. Upon registration there will be a luncheon menu to select a sandwich and a final material list will be sent out. Be a part of history at Adams National Historical Park and bring the desire so you too will leave with a painting to call your own.

Please call the Visitor Center to register at (617) 770-1175 or print out and mail the registration form with payment.
