Join Gerri Rachins for an artist demonstration exploring color in contemporary mixed-media painting. Watch as Rachins creates an abstract painting, taking inspiration from an arrangement of disparate objects.
Observe how color and shape relationships are selected and formed in the process of developing the final painting.
Open to all ages.
Afterwards, visit the exhibition “Jack Bush: Radiant Abstraction,” in Gallery 168, to view works by one of the most acclaimed Color Field painters of the 1960s and 70s.
Gerri Rachins has been teaching painting, color theory, and drawing courses for over 20 years. She is a faculty member at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts, and has also taught at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design (MassArt).
