On Saturday, December 3rd from 12 pm to 2 pm at The First Parish in Wayland, come make fun holiday cards in a beginner linoleum block class with Bryan Clocker through Arts Wayland.All materials will be provided for this class.
You will learn the basics of the multi-step process of producing a print and carving from a linoleum block.
The workshop covers a basic history of a block print and a walk through of each step from drawing an image that will bring a successful print, to transferring the image to the block, carving the block, and tricks for printing your carved linocut.
By the end you will have gained the tools and knowledge to go and make handmade cards for all seasons and unique pieces of art on your own.
This will be a fun fast paced class with lots of hands on experience and teaching.
No art background required, just an interest and an open mind to exploring this wonderful and long lived tradition of printmaking!
