On Saturday, September 23rd from 10 am to 4 pm at the First Parish In Wayland, take the opportunity to master the art of hand weaving and weave a table runner to be taken home at the end of the class, just in time to set your Thanksgiving dinner table, or to gift a loved one for the holidays.

No previous experience is necessary, as you will be guided by the teacher through the weaving, design and finishing process.

You will be weaving with repurposed cotton fabric strips and luxury yarns on rigid heddle looms.

Each student will be encouraged to see this way of weaving as a potential form of art and design which will be foremost in determining a unique table runner.

Consider bringing your own fabrics to cut into strips and weave with.

These can include a son’s flannel shirt, a husband’s neckties, patterned sheets which are no longer in service, etc. The teacher will have many cotton fabric strips to choose from as well.
