Each class will include all materials and will include such projects as landscapes, collage, family portraits and bookmaking.
Melrose resident and MACA member Julie Fox will be the instructor. She is a professional artist and arts educator who currently teaches at the New Art Center in Newton. This program is sponsored in part by Miter Biter Frame Co.

7/12 Go Wild!
Create an imaginative 3-D creature using found objects, wire and beads
7/19 Book Making
Learn how to make an artist’s book that includes some of your own hand decorated paper
7/26 Into the Woods
Draw and paint a colorful landscape using a variety of media including watercolor and pastel
8/2 Pop Shop
Design and construct a ladder style hanging mobile in the Pop Art style
8/9 Think Big!
Experiment with form, color and pattern. In this session we’ll make a large scale collage using a still life as the model.
8/16 Family Portrait
Who is in your family and what makes a portrait? Students will make both the portrait and the frame.
