After this concert’s sell-out success over the last two years, the Regattabar brings back for a third time, a truly memorable concert featuring Puerto Rican/Argentine Sol y Canto lead singer/percussionist/mom Rosi Amador, joined by her 14-year-old daughters Alisa and Sonia in a musical celebration of mothers and daughters on Mother’s Day eve.

A perfect evening out for the whole family, the repertoire features select Latin American classics, original Latin compositions by Rosi’s husband, Sol y Canto’s Musical Director and 2009 MacDowell Artist Colony fellow, Brian Amador, including songs he composed specially for his twin daughters, Alisa and Sonia to sing to “Mami” Rosi Amador. From his original salsa tune “Madre” (Mother) to their yearly hit: a humorous 4-part vocal arrangement sung by the Amador family of the bilingual 1947 classic, Quizás, Quizás, Quizás (Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps) by Cuban Osvaldo Farrés with English lyrics by Joe Davis, and new surprise songs that “Papi” is arranging for the twins, expect gorgeous, close-knit twin harmonies that are typical of these two young singers, who have been performing publicly since age four. But that’s not all: the sextet plan to perform a couple of brand new refreshing original Latin compositions from Brian Amador’s new Latin suite about food, “Sabor y Memoria”, penned at the MacDowell Artist Colony, featuring a special guest violinist as well as songs from the band’s critically lauded latest CD, “Cada Día un Regalo/Each Day a Gift,” described as “unfailingly inspiring” by Billboard Magazine, in a review which continues: “The Amadors and their cohorts bring a tremendous virtuosity to their music. Sol y Canto is Rosi and Brian Amador, backed by a group of extraordinary players.” - Philip Van Vleck, Billboard Magazine.
