Join us on AHA! night when Downtown New Bedford comes alive with Art, History and Architecture! On January 13th we will be celebrating what is NEW in New Bedford for the NEW year. Find out what’s in the NEWs, remember those we kNEW, check out NEW artwork & enjoy NEW menus at partner eateries. Plus we welcome our NEWest partner, Love Life Lens Photography!

Got kids? Check out the kid’s crafts & story telling at Artworks! The National Park’s 19th Century Ladies will be sure to entertain with Inventions, Store Fronts and Scandal. The New Bedford Whaling Museum presents children’s author Janet Costa Bates reading from her recently published children’s book “Seaside Dream”. & don’t forget the Ocean Explorium home to seahorses, jelly fish & so much more!

Looking for art? There are over 15 new & continuing shows to see at our downtown galleries, studios, stores & restaurants. Check out the opening of 'Caught ON Film”, a show featuring artists on location in vintage New Bedford using the traditional medium of camera & film @ the Judith Klein Art Gallery. Colo Colo features “SHADES OF FRAGILITY”: self portraits by Christina Maria Duarte. Plus the last chance to see the exhibition: In the Landscape: 4 painters, 4 seasons @ the New Bedford Art Museum.

Talks your thing? The Coalition for Buzzards Bay presents the NOVA documentary “The Haunted Cry of a Long Gone Bird” about esteemed environmentalist Richard Wheeler & his 1500 mile kayak journy. Stop by the New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park for “Having Our Say: Stories from the Cape Verdean Community” with oral history consultant Anne Marie Lopes. Plus NEW NEWs: Shorts from community newsmakers about upcoming projects

Love live music? Check out the ever popular Open Mic at Cafe Arpeggio. Enjoy music by Stephen Rose at the Cummings Building Artist Studios. Plus there’s plenty of entertainment at AHA! partner restaurants throughout the evening including DJ Colin Whatever spinning songs at the Pour Farm Tavern.

Just want to have fun? The AHA! Photo Booth is popping up at Crowell’s Fine Art featuring photographer Kate Mello plus NEW props including frames, hats & signage. Stop by the grand opening for our newest AHA! Partner Love Life Lens Photography & enjoy musical performances, a cake display from Boscakes, cocktails, hor d'oeuvres, open gallery viewing and a meet and greet with the photographers. Plus, Pour Farm Tavern continues their Ask the Brewer Series with brew master Jeff Horner from Cisco Brewery.

& of course eat & shop to your heart's content. AHA! partner eateries are serving up Mexican, Korean, Thai, award-winning chowder, the best buffalo wings in town, sushi, tapas & so much more. Looking to get your shop on? Our Downtown boutique stores will not disappoint if you are looking for something funky, beautiful, hand-made & unique.
