Capturing Birds of Prey with Pencil & Paper
(Ages 9–13)
SATURDAY, JANUARY 29, 2:00–3:30 PM
Fierce talons, strong beaks, sharp vision? Look closely at hawk, eagle and owl specimens to discover what makes these birds such excellent hunters. Using specimens in the classroom and galleries, we’ll explore how to capture their forms on paper using realistic drawing techniques.
Fees: $25 nonmembers/$22.50 members (10% discount)
Capturing Large Cats with Pencil & Paper
(Ages 9–13)
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 12, 2:00–3:30 PM
Tigers, jaguars, mountain lions, sabertooths and house cats are surprisingly similar. How do they compare to bears or coyotes? We’ll use realistic drawing techniques to explore the teeth, skeletons, and overall body shapes of these animals to investigate features common to all cats.
