Smudge, written by Emmy Award winner Rachel Axler (The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Parks and Recreation) is a dark comedy about the changing face of the American family and the limits of love and cheesecake, as a hopeful young couple gives birth to a “smudge”. In 2008, director Devon Scalisi was invited by the Eugene O’Neill Foundation to participate in a writers conference with the playwright, assisting in the development of the final version of the script.
The play is set for a June 16 - July 9 run at the STC Theater, 90 Lafayette Street in Salem. Performances are Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 5:00 p.m.
Tickets are available online now at www.salemtheatre.com or can be reserved for pick up at the box office by calling 978-790-8546, or emailing info@salemtheatre.com. Online ticketing ends 24 hours in advance of each performance.
