Join us on AHA! night when Downtown New Bedford comes alive with Art, History and Architecture! On July 14th see what unfolds when KIDS RULE Downtown NB! Hit the streets and enjoy a night jam-packed with summer sounds, hands on activities for the kid in all of us, scavenger hunts, a Solstice skate jam, plus unique shopping & good food at at our many boutique stores & eateries!
Got kids? This night is for you!! Cool Kids at Custom House Square includes a skateboard jam, climbing wall, ice cream & lemonade stands, music, poetry, & prayer flag making.
Check out the Science Street Fair presented by the NB Ocean Explorium & the Buttonwood Park Zoo. The RJD has Yoga Kids while NEW AHA! Partner, Yoga on Union, has bindi dots & face painting. Plus NEW AHA! Partner, OKO Arts presents an Arts Kids Fair.
Looking for art? There are over 15 new & continuing shows to see at our downtown galleries, studios, stores & restaurants including a graffiti show at UGLYgallery, & a tattoo show at Gallery X. Check out Cape Verdean exhibits at both the NB Whaling Museum & the NB Public Library. Plus we welcome NEW AHA! Partner, Gallery 65 on Union, featuring fine art & craft.
Talks & films your thing? Stop by the Ask the Brewer presentation at the Pour Farm Tavern. Or check out the FILMMOBILE outdoor screening of independent films.
Love live music? Check out the ever popular Open Mic at Cafe Arpeggio with this evenings Featured Performer, father & son duo, Mulligans Two. Centre Street Sessions continues with the Paul Nagel Trio! Toe Jam Puppet Band will be performing on the NB Whaling Museum plaza. The National Park garden will have Traditional Dance and Music from Madeira. Plus there’s plenty of entertainment at AHA! partner restaurants throughout the evening including DJ Colin Whatever spinning songs at the Pour Farm Tavern & Evil, Almond & Faris at No Problemo.
Just want to have fun? Festival Theatre presents scenes from Hair. Calico is throwing a feather extension & hair tinsel party. The RJD has old fashioned lawn games. Plus scavenger hunts, kite making, jelly bean counting & so much more!
& of course eat & shop to your heart's content. AHA! partner eateries are serving up Mexican, Korean, Thai, award-winning chowder, the best buffalo wings in town, sushi, tapas & so much more.
