Join us on AHA! Night when Art, History & Architecture come alive in New Bedford! On August 11th we’ll be Making Waves throughout the Downtown as we celebrate the #1 Port in the United States, our love of the water, summer sounds & a whole lot more.

Got kids? Custom House Square has a Michael Jackson Dance Contest & a Global Collage project. Check out the Science Street Fair presented by the NB Ocean Explorium & the Buttonwood Park Zoo. Ruth & Abby, the 19th Century Ladies, will be leading a sing-a-long at the Seamen’s Bethel. Plus performances by the SouthCoast Children’s Theater, crafts with the Schooner Ernestina & WAVES at the Buzzards Bay Coalition.

Looking for art? There are over 15 new & continuing shows to see at our downtown galleries, studios, stores & restaurants including Public Hanging 22 at Gallery X, large scale drawings & monotypes at OKOarts & Under the Influence at Crowell's Fine Art. Plus we welcome NEW AHA! Partner, Paradise McFee Gallery.

Talks your thing? Stop by the Ask the Brewer presentation at the Pour Farm Tavern. The NB Whaling Museum & the NB Art Museum both have author talks & book signings. Or shake things up with “Making Waves: Earthquakes & Nuclear Bombs” at the RJD.

Love live music? Check out the ever popular Open Mic at Cafe Arpeggio with this evenings Featured Performer, Meyer Brown. Centre Street Sessions continues with the Too Human Band! Toe Jam Puppet Band will be performing on the NB Whaling Museum plaza. The National Park garden will have Maritime Music with Yankee Notions. The Celtic Coffee House hosts the J. Kelly Band. Plus there’s plenty of entertainment at AHA! partner restaurants throughout the evening including DJ Colin Whatever spinning songs at the Pour Farm Tavern & Evil, Almond & Faris at No Problemo.

Just want to have fun? The William Street Art on the Block Party has live music & dance, fresh paint & probably some surprises! Your Theatre presents scenes from I Hate Hamlet. Rose Alley Ale House is hosting the Strong Arm Challenge. Plus cooking demonstrations, harbor cruises, ERG races, whaleboating & so much more!

& of course eat & shop to your heart's content. AHA! partner eateries are serving up Mexican, Korean, Thai, award-winning chowder, the best buffalo wings in town, sushi, tapas & so much more. Looking to get your shop on? Our Downtown boutique stores will not disappoint if you are looking for something funky, beautiful, hand-made & unique.

& remember AHA! doesn’t end at 9pm! Enjoy entertainment and food at many AHA! partner restaurants after the clock strikes nine.
