Each year the Winter Lights artist and artisan showcase at the Loading Dock Gallery gets brighter and more extensive. Winter Lights IV, opening November 30, expands the display of elegant, giftable art into media not offered before.

The main area of the gallery will be packed with locally-made, affordable, and entrancing works to give to others or to cherish yourself. All are invited to meet the Artists on December 3rd from 5pm – 7pm and join them for holiday celebration in the gallery

Among the artists:

Betsy Keeney of Pepperell builds her jewelry by hand from silver and gold sheets and wire, with the occasional burst of bright beadwork. “I like the clean, modern look of silver, gold, and black together,' she says.

For this year’s show, Peter Zimmerman of Arlington has added a whimsical selection of fish earrings to his array of hand-blown and soda glass confections.

Heather Wang of Westford offers creations in mixed metal and enameled jewelry. Her new collection of flute-flower earrings claims pride of place.

Lowell’s Arlette Laan provides cards featuring her new line of Christmas decorations. Both are on sale, along with a selection of her dolls and other wonders.

Rebekah Wetmore of Lowell offers the latest in her series of evocative and entrancing paintings of people and animals on broken bricks.

Linda Branch Dunn is showing the latest in her line of richly-colored fabric bags.

Glenn Szegedy of Lowell contributes ceramic carvings and remarkable sculptures. The sculptures often make use of wood washed up along the Merrimack River.

Lowell photographer John Wren offers coasters and mugs resplendent with images he has captured.

Laura Doran of Lowell creates wonders in copper and beaded jewelry, coasters, mugs, and holiday ornaments.
The Muddy Girls (Barbara Guilmet of Pepperell, MA and Samantha Tucker of Concord, NH) offer “fun, funky, and functional” pottery, tableware, jewelry and fused glass.

Tarja Cockell of North Andover contributes colorful scarves, table runners, and placemats.
Ann Lee of Lowell creates one-of-a-kind jackets and scarves. She reports, “Lately I’ve been concentrating on creating art-to-wear jackets which combine my love of quilting and surface design.”

Pepperell’s Nita Leger of Pepperell offers handmade books and journals.

Tina Silverio of Lowell is presenting her latest glass ornaments and bowls.

Jack Holmes of Andover offers photo calendars and brick paperweights.

Holly Berube of Tewksbury is showing wreaths and other seasonal decorative items.

Winter Lights IV will show in The Loading Dock Gallery at Western Avenue Studios, 122 Western Avenue, 2nd floor in the A Mill, from Wednesday, November 30 until Sunday, January 1, 2011. A gathering to meet the Artists and celebrate the holidays will be held on Saturday December 3rd from 5-7pm. Gallery hours are Wednesday through Sunday, 11 am - 4:30 pm.
