Grow a Poet-Tree | 10 am–4 pm | Atrium
Add to our forest of poems by creating your own artful leaves! Contribute lines from one of your favorite poets, write your own poem or draw an illustration. Come back throughout the festival to watch our poet-trees grow.
FAMILY GALLERY ACTIVITY
Poet Quest | 10 am–5 pm
Pick up your 'treasure map' at the information desk and travel the world through PEM's collection on a quest for poetry and riddles.
DROP-IN ART ACTIVITY
Illuminating Names | 10:30 am–2 pm | Art Studios
Make your name into a work of art inspired by the medieval technique of illumination or use it for the beginnings of an acrostic poem.
FAMILY GALLERY TOUR
Words Paint Pictures | 11–11:30 am; For families with children ages 5 and up

What colors do you see in an artwork? How do they make you feel? Poets use words to create images in our mind. Explore PEM's galleries through poetry and make a unique bookmark to take home.
ARTIST DEMONSTRATION
River of Words | 1–4 pm | Atrium
Meet artist Christine Destrempes and learn about her collaborative art project, River of Words, Stream of Conscience, on view in Ripple Effect, The Art of H2O. Then add your own thoughts and memories of water to a growing stream.

What does Mozart have in common with rap music? Poetry! Actor, mime and comedian David Zucker brings to life poems by A.A. Milne, Lewis Carroll, Ogden Nash and others in this participatory performance.
