The Lexington Arts and Crafts Society’s Painters Guild presents a demonstration by internationally known artist Sujata Dharap. This informative and inspiring demonstration by Sujata who completed her Bachelor of Fine Art and a Post Graduate Diploma in Mural Design from the J.J. School of Art, Mumbai in 1985 and settled in Pune there after she was chosen to exhibit at the Monsoon Art show as a student in 1984.
She won the Maharashtra State award in 1981 in the student's category and a National Award of the 'All India Fine Art and Craft Society', New Delhi in 1986. Sujata has had 22 shows of her work including shows at Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai, Ravindra Bhavan, Delhi, and at Goa, Hyderabad & Pune. She has participated in several Group Shows.
Sujata has designed and executed 150 murals in several mediums for interiors, exteriors and landscaped areas. She also works as a colour consultant to architects. She has been teaching children art, clay modeling and pottery for the past 28 years and was on the Guest Faculty of the Sinhagad Architecture Institute Pune.
It is a wonderful opportunity to watch, learn, question, speak. Located in the Plummer Studio, admission and parking are free and the Public is welcome.
