Comeau’s collage murals explore loss, repair, and rebirth.
From vintage linens to cast-off sheets, she finds new purpose for old fabrics in ways that explain larger issues of identity and class—as well as insatiable consumer need.
By referencing collective quilt making and needlework—traditionally seen as female activities—she not only pays homage to the historic role of women in craft, but also elevates our understanding of textile as an artistic medium.
