Lisa Goren’s series of paintings represents recent travels in the North.

From Iceland to Svalbard, Goren is inspired by the landscape near and above the Arctic Circle.

She will be exhibiting pieces that are based (for the most part) on photos from her voyages.

Large landscapes and seascapes are represented as well as close-ups of lava, plants and ice which make up a seemingly abstract reality.

Working exclusively in watercolors, Lisa is focused on bringing the colors of the “barren” Polar regions to new audiences.

Artist Talk -
Nearly two years ago, Lisa Goren found out that she had been accepted as a member of the 2013 voyage of Arctic Circle.

This artist residency brings 27 artists to sail from Svalbard to near the North Pole on a tall ship.

Lisa spent three weeks in the Arctic in September and October of 2013 and will present stories of her experience – Painting!

Polar Bears!

“Swimming”!

and more – along with photos she took during her adventure.

The talk will begin at 6pm.
