Saturday, May 3, 1:30-2:30 p.m. “Old Schwamb Mill Work Force Revisited: a look at the worker experience at the Mill from the late 19th century to the mid 20th century” presented by Schwamb Mill archivist Dermot Whittaker.
The talk is second in a five part lecture series celebrating the 150th anniversary of the purchase of the mill by brothers Charles and Frederick Schwamb in 1864.
Following the talk from 2:30-4:00 p.m. is a reception for “Greek Idylls” art work by students of Arlington artist Adria Arch, inspired by a recent trip to Greece.
Featured artists include: Laurie Archonsky, Liz Bell, Diana Bourgeois, Carole Dallaire, Angele Desjardins, Margaret Furlong, Anne Goodwin, Karen Molloy and Karen Wihbey.

The Old Schwamb Mill is an 1864 oval and circular picture frame factory and now a living history industrial museum listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
Open Tuesdays and Saturdays, 11a.m.-3 p.m. for guided tours that include a demonstration of the fame-making process; viewing of the spring art show in the second floor gallery; and purchase of the Mill’s hand-turned museum-quality frames.
Shopping is available at the Shaker Workshops store in the Mill’s 18th century barn: furniture, lamps, rugs, and unique gift items.
