In this discussion, Dr. Richard Kogan will explore the complex personality of the great Jewish American composer George Gershwin.
The audience will have the opportunity to discover the impact of psychological factors and psychiatric illness on the music created by Gershwin, including “Rhapsody in Blue” during this thought provoking lecture.
Dr. Kogan has been praised by both The New York Times and The Boston Globe for his career as both a concert pianist and psychiatrist.
He has given lectures and recitals that explore music’s important role in healing and the influence of psychological factors in the creative works of Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Schumann, Tchaikovsky and Leonard Bernstein, in addition to George Gershwin.
