A Besere Velt is a great place to give it a try!
A Besere Velt—A Better World—is a chorus sponsored by the Boston Workmen’s Circle that sings in Yiddish, English, and other languages to help preserve culture and fight for social justice.
We are looking for new members this fall.
There are no auditions, and no knowledge of Yiddish is required.
Open Rehearsals are Saturday, 24 September 2016, from 3:30 to 5:30, at 1550 Beacon Street, Brookline; and Monday, 10 October 2016, from 4 to 6 at the Workmen’s Circle building, 1762 Beacon Street, Brookline.
Please arrive within 15 minutes of the start time.
There is street parking available at both locations.
Open Rehearsals offer an opportunity to sing with the chorus before deciding whether to make a commitment for the year.
Membership opens only once a year.
Our songs grew out of the shtetls, the ghettos, the camps, the sweatshops, and union meetings.
They speak of freedom, equality, and building a better world.
Our shows have given chorus members amazing opportunities to be a part of transformative artistic experiences as we sing for a better world.
