This event is all about Chinese culture. Please bring your family and friends to enjoy Chinese painting, Chinese folk dance, art crafting, face painting and games, etc.
This event is supported by the Mayor's office for cultural affairs and is the third consecutive year that the Chinese Cultural Festival is hosted at the Newton City Hall.
Chinese culture is one of the world's oldest cultures, tracing back to its roots thousands of years ago.
To present this glorious Chinese culture to our friends and neighbors, each year's Newton Chinese Cultural festival would feature different themes.
As for the past two years, we showcased Chinese traditional instruments and costumes, and the theme for this year is going to be Chinese painting, which is one of the oldest continuous artistic traditions in the world.
At the festival, we will introduce you to the history and the different styles of Chinese paintings.
You will have a rare opportunity to watch our artist painting in close distance and learn some basic painting techniques from our Chinese painting masters.
In addition to the Chinese painting, you and your family can also enjoy traditional Chinese folk dance, listening to Chinese folk songs and tasting traditional Chinese food.
For children, there will be many other activities like art crafting, face painting and games.
We hope this will be wonderful celebration of the Chinese culture with the whole Newton community.
Please bring your family and friends along.
We look forward to seeing you on Saturday, March 11 2017 at the Newton City Hall.
Sincerely,
CAAN, NCLS and GBCCA
