The events will be co-produced by Nevette Previd of Farm.Field.Sea, the Vineyard’s premiere culinary experience company, and chef Spring Sheldon, a Martha’s Vineyard/Oaxaca- based chef and caterer.
Fusing a passion for super-local food, inspired guests and unexpected surprises, the Makers Table roving dinners will tell the story of the Island through the lens of local farmers, shellfish cultivators, fishers, musicians, artists, guest chefs and food visionaries.
Each Makers Table experience will have a different theme, menu, and location.
Kept secret until just days before the event, the surprise venues may include magical farms, rich cultural centers, charming private homes, delightful outdoor spaces, renowned performance venues, and dockside havens.
Each experience offers an immersive element: guests may be treated to a tour of the venue or farm by local food purveyors or historical experts, or an intimate discussion with a food visionary.
A festive, live soundtrack will underscore each event, provided by Island musicians, and an accompanying visual feast will be presented by a local artist, whose work will be available throughout the night.
That’s not all...each event will be chock full of surprises, truly lifting these interactive dinner experiences into the realm of the unforgettable.
Partner artists include Alexis Rusillo, Althea Freeman-Miller, Nina Gordon, Abe Pieciak, Colin Ruel, and The Yard dancers.
Accompanying Chef Spring Sheldon, guest chefs will also be lending their unique talents to each Makers Table menu.
Chef collaborators include - Nathan Gould , Chef De Cuisine at O YA and proprietor of MV Smokehouse, Carlos Montoya of Garde East, Smoke genius Everett Whiting, Juli Vanderhoop of The Orange Peel Bakery, Ky Keenan, plant-based chef and co-founder of Not Your Sugar Mamas, Ann Khoan of a Moveable Feast, Jimmy Alvarado of Isola, and Gavin Smith, The Food-Minded Fellow.
Diners can also select VIP experiences within the event such as an in-depth wine tasting with Frog’s Leap Winery or be one of 8 guests at the ‘Chef’s Table,’ featuring exclusive bites and pours.
