This program is designed specifically to guarantee the safest way for our students to spend some much needed time with their Revels peers, engage in some theater fun, and learn from some of the area’s most talented tradition bearers through participatory performances.
Because we are strongly adhering to the guidelines set by the CDC and the State of Massachusetts, space is limited to 20 students per session, so sign up today!

August 5
Guest Artist Veronica Robles Presents: Mariachi Music and Dance
Description: Clad in authentic Mexican outfits, and instruments.
This enrichment program features Veronica Robles singing, playing her Vihuela (5 string Mariachi instrument), and dancing the Mexican hat dance in her colorful dress.
There’s a bit of storytelling and the opportunity for students to sing along and dance while wearing fun Mariachi costumes!
After the show students will be able to describe the Mexican Flag, as well as identify the different rhythms and styles that comprises Mexican music and the styles of Aztec clothing, folkloric dresses and Mariachi suits.

Guest Artist 'Joh' Sidi Mohamed Camara Presents: African Drumming
Description: Through the teaching of West African drumming, Joh will share the rich history and culture of the West African region.
Students will learn about self expression, how to effectively communicate, and teamwork.
Joh’s program will ensure development of the brain through coordination and physical exercise to put you in balance.This program is full of fun and excitement.

Guest Artist Motoko Dworkin Presents: Origami and Japanese Storytelling
Description: Parents’ Choice Award winner Motoko shares folktales and origami from her native Japan.
Her age-appropriate, step-by-step origami activity will include a samurai helmet you can wear!
An acclaimed storyteller and teaching artist, Motoko has performed in schools and libraries across the U.S. and abroad.
She is the author of A Year in Japan: Folktales, Songs and Art for the Classroom.

Guest Teaching Artist David Coffin Presents: Whaling Program
Description: Let’s go on an imaginary whaling voyage from the most famous whaling port in the world.
Are you ready for an equal parts entertainment and educational experience?
Let’s sing some 19th century sea chanteys and whaling songs and learn what they’re about.
Come be a masked chantey singer.
