Developed and led by art history expert, Helen Lee, this new workshop offers a platform for diverse perspectives and spirited conversation between students and the general public on contemporary art and art history subjects alike Why do we think this would be beneficial to your students/members?
• Art enhances problem-solving skills.
• Art boosts self-esteem and provides a sense of accomplishment.
• Art reduces stress.
During each hour-long seminar, Helen will encourage close analysis of visual artworks, while also introducing participants to different artists and their works from a variety of time periods and cultures.
Featured artists include Kara Walker, Kitagawa Utamaro, Kerry James Marshall, Emanuel Leutze, and more.
At the end of each workshop, all students participate in a lively Q&A, where they can apply the principles they have learned during the hour.
We’ve found this method of learning is highly effective.
And it’s just plain fun!
