Among the most unique-sounding ensembles is the clarinet quintet, comprised of clarinet, two violins, viola, and cello.
This instrumentation, while rare, has left a distinct mark on the classical chamber music repertoire.
In this concert, join BFO musicians for a musical conversation to address this question: out of all the instruments to add to a string quartet, why did these composers choose the clarinet?
Each movement has been carefully selected to create an almost entirely new clarinet quintet--the Super Quintet!
BFO Artistic Director Alyssa Wang takes you through a classical music journey designed to inspire new listeners, classical music veterans, and everyone in between!
In the Harvard Musical Association's intimate space, you can interact with BFO musicians up close, ask questions, converse with your fellow audience members, and have a wholly unique and personal experience.
We hope you will join us for this FREE event!
