Organized by the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery, The Obama Portraits Tour presents the portraits of former President Barack Obama and Mrs. Michelle Obama by artists Kehinde Wiley and Amy Sherald.
At the MFA, the exhibition is complemented by Portraits of Leadership, a crowd-sourced collection of portraits from the community featuring leaders of all kinds.
As a response to the Museum's call for submissions, artists of all ages—from Dorchester to Seoul—have submitted more than 2,600 works. Forming a larger portrait of leadership in the Museum’s community, the project creates a celebratory moment for Boston audiences as they experience Kehinde Wiley and Amy Sherald’s iconic portraits of Barack and Michelle Obama.
