Take a one hour romp through the history of the Guerrilla Girls from 1985 to today with Guerrilla Girls founding member, Frida Kahlo, offered in connection with the May Stevens exhibition at MAAM.The Guerrilla Girls are anonymous artist activists who use disruptive headlines, outrageous visuals, and striking statistics to expose gender and ethnic bias and corruption in art, film, politics, and pop culture.
A one hour romp through the history of the Guerrilla Girls from 1985 to today.
This talk by Guerrilla Girls founding member, Frida Kahlo, is offered in connection with the current exhibition May Stevens: My Mothers.
This exhibition features the work of painter, poet, feminist icon, and founding member of the Guerrilla Girls, May Stevens (MassArt ‘46).
Following the talk, enjoy a special viewing of the exhibition at MAAM until 8:30pm.
This talk will be offered in a hybrid format with options for both in-person and virtual participation.

MAAM is located on the MassArt campus at 621 Huntington Avenue. Nearby parking is limited and the closest self-park garage is located at the Museum of Fine Arts, 20 Museum Road (0.3 miles away). The MBTA Green Line (E) Longwood Medical stop or Orange Line Ruggles Station stop are close-by. Boston’s public bike share system, Bluebikes, has a station near the MAAM entrance at 621 Huntington Avenue.
