Poetry in art and art in poetry!
The program includes a brief beginner-friendly poetry workshop, led by New Bedford’s own Poet Laureate, Sarah Jane Mulvey, for those who feel inspired by the art and artists.
After the planned program, enjoy lite bites and libations in the Jacobs Family Gallery, and explore the rest of the exhibition spaces with the rhythms of calypso music in background.
Sarah Jane Mulvey is a poet and non-profit professional.
She is a co-founder of Anomaly Poetry and hosts monthly open mic nights.
She is an editor and contributor to Anomaly’s yearly anthologies - Rituals and Tidings, now in their fifth year of publication.
Doors open at 5:30pm and first spoken word set starts promptly at 6:00pm in Wattles Gallery, followed by the poetry workshop.
The second set will start at 7:00pm in the Center Street Gallery.
The museum will be open until 9:00pm.
