Documentary Screening: The Seer and the Unseen Saturday, Sept.

30 starting at 2 pm til ~4 pm The magical realism-style film The Seer and the Unseen follows Ragga (the seer) through the Icelandic wilderness over the course of two years and it uncovers the country’s legendary history of belief.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Harvard Germanic language teacher and previous Iceland resident Chip Robinson.

Robinson studied the supernatural in Iceland for his doctoral research in the context of medieval and modern Icelandic culture.

FUN FACT: More than 50 percent of Icelanders either believe that elves or fairies — which in Iceland are referred to as Huldufólk, or “hidden people” — exist, or at least they don't believe that they don't.

Many experts draw correlations between this open attitude and Iceland’s high standard of happiness.

This event has been made possible by the generosity of The Village Bank.
