Be in the first original production of the Queen, The Musical!

Bring a resume & headshot. Prepare a one minute monologue and 32 bars of a song. Ages 15+. Rehearsals are Sundays and Tuesdays, starting June 13.

Tentative Performance dates: August 6, 7 , 8, 13 and 14. Air Conditioned and Accessible by T.

Show Synopsis:

Queen, The Fabulous Fairy Tale Musical is the coming of age story of Ruth Anne, an awkward teen with a passion for singing/songwriting – trying to survive senior year at Newman High. The year is 2010, and upon moving into an old Boston brownstone, Ruth Anne discovers that her attic bedroom is haunted by Mizery, the ghost of a drag queen from the seventies disco era. This modern day fairy tale musical chronicles one girl’s journey into adulthood where an unexpected friend teaches her to find her voice and set her spirit free.



Cast of Characters:

RUTH ANNE – Awkward, but loveable high school senior.

BARBARA – Ruth Anne's single mother, mid 30s, eccentric former sorority girl.

MIZERY – very tall, African American drag queen, mid 30s. Over the top, flamboyant, and out of control. Ghost. Died in 1978.

WANDA – Pious dress shop owner. African American. Late 40s/early 50s.

KARL – Guitar-slinging high school rebel. Outspoken, smart, Goth, punk-rocker type.

CHACHI – Super-hot high school jock.

JESSICA – Gorgeous, mean, and seventeen.

BRITNEY – Cheerleader and Jessica’s protégé.

TARA – Cheerleader and a Jessica follower.

DIGGER – High School football hero.

JOSH – Rough and tumble high school jock.

MR. SNATCHETT – Drama/voice teacher. Nerdish. 30-50
