The Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras, under the artistic leadership of Music Director Federico Cortese, announces auditions for 2008/09. Auditions are open to students who are in grades K-12.
Auditions will be held in Boston from May 19-25 at Boston University College of Fine Arts.
Applications and information, including attendance requirements and tuition, are available at www.BYSOweb.org or by calling 617- 353-3348 ext. 4.
All prospective and returning orchestra musicians must audition each year for membership. The Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras' (BYSO) artistic staff evaluates each audition to assess a musician's current level of technical ability, musical understanding, expression and potential. Placements are then determined by audition results.
Please note that candidates do not audition for a specific orchestra but rather for membership in the BYSO as a whole. Once accepted, candidates are placed in one of the BYSO's four orchestras according to their level of advancement.
You may apply to audition by:
* Requesting an application on the website
* Calling our office at (617) 353-3348 and requesting an audition brochure.
