Jonas excels in live performances that inspire all ages to use their own voices and any handy item to sing, dance, shake their keys, snap, tap, clap hands, and be part of the band. A singer-songwriter / 'industrial re-percussionist,' Billy Jonas' drum kit is made of found objects - buckets, pots, pans, a garbage can, and a 5 gallon water bottle.
With jingles on his ankles and sticks coming out of his shoes, he transforms the mundane into the marvelous. It's Frank Zappa meets Mr. Rogers. It's Parliament-Funkadelic and Spike Jones meet Pete Seeger. It's Miriam Makeba and Igor Stravinsky meet Captain Kangaroo.
