Learn about word play, rhythm, point of view, plot construction and rhyme at a nine-week class called Writing Picture Books at the Leventhal-Sidman JCC in Newton (333 Nahanton Street). Participants will create publishable picture book text while leaving room for an illustrator.

Part of each class will be devoted to writing exercises. Come with ideas for writing projects and bring favorite picture books. The class will take place on Mondays from 10am-noon, beginning January 24. Or, an alternate course will take place on Thursdays from 7-9pm, beginning January 20. Cost is $180. Open to all.
