Dressed in period costume, children’s author Donna Marie Seim shares the story of Charley, the journey of a 12-year-old orphan from the city streets of Boston to the heart of rural Maine in 1910.
Imagine life as a child in the 20th century as you try your hand at a game of Ringer marbles, pretend to milk “Bessie the Cow”, and investigate the museum’s collection of ice tools.
The book’s illustrator Susan Spellman will demonstrate techniques for illustrating books with young artists.
Included in museum admission.
