Join us for a special afternoon where words meet art. Esteemed poets from the region will gather to read poems inspired by artwork at Fuller Craft Museum.

Esteemed poets from the region will gather to read poems inspired by artwork at Fuller Craft Museum, in particular the current exhibition “The Stories We Tell: Works by Tommy Simpson, Michelle Holzapfel, and Binh Pho.”

The reading and reception is a time to celebrate the poets and their writing, the artist and their artwork, and the chapbook that was produced “The Stories We Tell.” This ekphrastic chapbook project is a collaboration by Fuller Craft Museum and the Brockton Arts Poetry Series, which meets every third Saturday at the Museum.

Refreshments will be served.

Admission to the reading and reception is included with admission fee to the Museum.

Poets who intend to read at the open mic may enter at no charge and must sign up at the front desk.

The schedule of the ekphrastic reading and reception is as follows:
1:00 – Select young featured poets read their ekphrastic poetry
1:30 – open mic – bring your own poetry to share Refreshments
2:00 – 3:30 Readings from “The Stories We Tell” chapbook
3:30 Roam the galleries and see the show for yourself before it closes on June 15

Berg, Sheila Mullen Twyman, Tom Daley, Regie O’Hare Gibson, Ryk McIntyre, Kris Weinrich, and Arne Danielson.

Artists whose artwork inspired the book:
Tommy Simpson, Michelle Holzapfel, Binh Pho, David Lang, John Cederquist, and Jerry Alonzo.

Getting to Fuller Craft is simple. Just three minutes off Route 24. One exit past IKEA if you’re going South on 24. Stop by and visit us on the way to or from the Cape.
From Route 128, 495 or 93 to Route 24:
• Take Route 24 to Exit 18B, Route 27 North (Stoughton).
• Take a right at the third light onto Oak Street.
• The Museum is one mile down on the left.

By Public Transportation:
• Take the Commuter Rail, Middleboro/Lakevilleline to Brockton station, or take Brockton Area Transit (BAT) Bus #12 from Ashmont Stationto Brockton station.
• Then take Brockton Area Transit (BAT) Bus #4A to the Museum (request stop).
• Look for the large green sign on the right.
