Touring internationally since 2008, ‘Play Me, I’m Yours’ is an artwork by artist Luke Jerram.More than 800 pianos have now been installed in 36 cities across the globe, from New York to Sydney and coming soon to Boston, bearing the simple invitation ‘Play Me, I’m Yours.’
The project has reached more than three million people worldwide, with each new city that commissions the work becoming part of a growing legacy.
As a thank you to millions of loyal patrons and to celebrate its 75th anniversary season, the Celebrity Series of Boston is presenting ‘Play Me, I’m Yours’ the Street Pianos Boston festival from September 27 – October 14, 2013.
Located in public spaces in Boston, Cambridge, Somerville and Brookline, 75 pianos will be available for anyone to play and enjoy. A wide range of local artists and community- based organizations will decorate the pianos, and the Celebrity Series will schedule several solo or ensemble performances.
Please save the date for the Celebrity Series’ 75th season Kick-Off party on October 5, 2013 at the Galleria at 10 St. James Avenue, which will feature highlights from the festival.
